Stereotypes have had a big impact in my life. Racial stereotypes are something that hurts many people however a type of stereotype that’s changed my life is what I’d become. A stereotype is an oversimplified idea of something and people believe that you’re stuck as a bad, sad, or mad person. People grow up and see many things and usually what they see is what they believe their future will entail. That’s this whole oversimplified idea of our future. We live such stereotypes and I’ve felt I wouldn’t be able to live my own life but instead the life I grew up seeing. This social stereotype held me back in the past but I don’t believe in it anymore and I spend everyday trying to enjoy life and to be excited for whatever future I have, a future that I can control.
